2023 Bristol Bookfest featuring the odyssey by homer translated by emily wilson — April 1 from 9 to 5 p.m.

Ink Fish Books is proud to be a partner bookstore for this upcoming event with Bristol BookFest.


The 2023 Bristol BookFest consists of a free keynote talk and reception on Friday, March 31, at Colt School Auditorium (570 Hope St), and a paid day program of speakers and informal discussions on Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the ballroom of Linden Place (500 Hope St).

Saturday’s speaker’s include:

  • Dr. Barbara Graziosi, an Italian classicist and academic who is professor of classics at Princeton University;

  • Mary Ebbott, professor of classics, the College of the Holy Cross, specializing in Homeric epics;

  • Johanna Hanink, professor of classics and associate provost for faculty community at Brown University;

  • Carol Dougherty, professor of classical studies and director of comparative literature at Wellesley College;

  • Garrett Dash Nelson, president and head curator, Leventhal Map and Educational Center at the Boston Public Library;

  • Phoebe Segal, curator, Greek and Roman art at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts;

  • BookFest Co-founder, Charles Calhoun, a Bristol-based biographer and historian


The 2023 Bristol BookFest program is funded by the Friends of Rogers Free Library.
